Food and Toiletries Drive for Children’s Homes

One of the tenets of the Credit Union Movement is “Concern for Community” and, therefore, to celebrate International Credit Union Week 2021, First Regional Co-operative Credit Union Limited participated in the Credit Union Movement’s ‘Food and Toiletries Drive.’ Two children’s homes were selected to benefit from the items procured by First Regional.

The Food and Toiletries drive ran from October 11 - 20, with a donations box being set up in each First Regional branch to facilitate contributions from First Regional members and staff. 

On October 21^st, International Credit Union Day, staff members from the Round Hill and Negril branches presented their contributions to Mr. Collin Hitchman, Director of the Clifton Boys Home in Darliston, Westmoreland. Over on the North Coast, First Regional’s Business Development Team loaded up the First Regional bus with contributions and journeyed to the Pringle Home for Girls in Carron Hall, St. Mary. 

The team was afforded the opportunity to meet with some of the residents of the Pringle Home for Girls, who expressed great joy and enthusiasm regarding the visit. The girls' home was also gifted with a new wash basin for their sick bay, as the previous basin had been damaged. 

Both Mrs. Jeanette Rose Bryan, Manager of the Pringle Home for Girls, and Mr. Hitchman, Director of the Clifton Boys’ Home, expressed their heartfelt appreciation to First Regional for giving back to those who need it most.
